Now that's Filial Piety..

In life, we always strive to be the best of what we can. To be a good person, a good wife, a good mom, a good friend and most importantly a good child to your parents.

I may not be around for my mommy all the time but I try to call three times a week to just chat and find out how she is, what she's up to and if there is anything that I can do although I am like thousands of miles away. After all that is the only mommy I've got and if I don't try to make her life comfortable, who would right?

That being said, this is simply a great story too good to pass up... Enjoy :) ...

An old Italian man lived alone in the country. He wanted to dig his tomato garden, but it was very hard work as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent,

I am feeling pretty badly because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me.

Love, Dad

A few days later he received a letter from his son:

Dear Dad,

Don't dig up that garden. That's where I buried the bodies.

Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son:

Dear Dad,

Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances.

Love you, Vinnie..........

I told ya...

Check out my new car!!

Isn't it cool!! I was gonna race it on F1 but it was a late admission and was rejected.....

Ha Ha Ha!!

Actually folks, this was what I bought yesterday at Carrefour while shopping for new chairs for hubby's office. It is a remote control car to play with my kitties.... Grand eh?? It was so cheap at RM19.95 that it was too hard to resist!

Both me and hubby love to "kacau" or "disturb" the kitties with toys like this. It is so fun to watch their responses to such an open "threat" which to us seems so innocent. I will try to catch a video or picture soon and post it over at Cat Tales in case anyone is interested...

Song of the Moment...

I just love this song...

Colbie Caillat - Bubbly

Lyrics so that you can sing along..

I've been awake for a while now
you've got me feelin like a child now
cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

It starts in my toes
and I crinkle my nose
where ever it goes I always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

The rain is fallin on my window pane
but we are hidin in a safer place
under covers stayin dry and warm
you give me feelins that I adore

It starts in my toes
make me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
i always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

What am I gonna say
when you make me feel this way
I just........mmmmmm

It starts in my toes
make me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
i always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

I've been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin me tight

Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever you go, I'll always know
Cause you make me smile here, just for a while

Me, the Cappuccino!

I love my coffee. That being said though, I am not the traditional coffee drinker like my hubby who can take his coffee black, just with sugar. In fact, I don't take anything black, not tea and definitely not coffee. So does that really make me a coffee drinker or not??

Anyway, I found this test over at Ratu Syura and thought it would be fun to try it. Whadaya know.. I am a ...

You Are a Cappuccino

You're fun, outgoing, and you love to try anything new.

However, you tend to have strong opinions on what you like.

You are a total girly girly at heart - and prefer your coffee with good conversation.

You're the type that seems complex to outsiders, but in reality, you are easy to please

Yeah, that's me alright.. complex but easy to please....lolzzzz!

Men Just Don't Listen., do they??

I just got to share this with my women readers.. And they say women never listens eh?... hahaha!

A man and his wife receive a letter from their daughter who went to study overseas:

My beloved Parents, I miss you so much. I don't know when I'm coming home, but it seems not anytime soon. It breaks my heart to think that by the time I get back you'll be too old. So enclosed you will find a bottle of a potion I have invented. It will make you young, so when I return you'll be the same age as I left you.

NOTE: "Please take only one drop"

So they open the envelope and in it there is a bottle with a red potion.. The husband looks at the wife and says: "You go first."

So the wife opens the bottle and takes a drop, there after the husband follows. Indeed they do turn 5 years younger.

A few years passes and the daughter returns home to find her mother young and beautiful, carrying a baby on her back. The mother proceeds to tell her daughter how the potion worked and made her look young.

The daughter is delighted and asks about her father.

"Your father, my child, got so jealous that I was young and beautiful so he drank the whole bottle."

"So where is he?" the daughter asked

"Oh, that's him I have on my back."

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Smiling Comments

Ok folks, I've enjoyed this blogger hack so much that I want to share with you so we all can experience the wonderful world of smileys just like those wordpress blog!..heheh

I was a bit lazy to put up this post but since GP wanted to know how I put links on her comment box, I thought I put in a blog entry and share with everyone.

First thing first, the most common way you can put links in your comments box is by using the good ol' html code for instance if I want to tag someone and I want that person to go straight to my post i can type:

Note that the http is the url address and the text "see me fly" is my blog entry title. When you post the comment, the result would be a hyper link meaning if the user click on the text, he would be brought to the address you specified.

Ok.. easy enough?

Now this is where the fun begins :) . Have you ever wished you can see that Mr yellow smiley face when you visit blogspot blogs? Well courtesy of this website that I stumbled upon, now we can. Here's how but you must be using Firefox ok :)

  1. Download a plugin called Grease Monkey. Just click here and you will be brought to the download link. Install Greasemonkey Extension in your Firefox browser.
  2. Click on this link to get your user script.
  3. Install the script.
  4. After a successful installation, you will now see a little monkey icon at your status bar. This is where you can enable and disable the program
  5. Now try commenting on this blog and you will see an amazing tool that makes commenting not only easy but FUN!!
Try it our and let me know what you think! Oh btw, you will also see smileys on OTHER people blogs but NOT yours ok. This is a feel good thing for you but imagine when other people install the plugin yourself... Ahhh smiley heaven!

A Poem for Sunday!

I got this cute poem in my mail today and truly believe if any hubby or boyfriend were to say this to you ladies, all I can say is, he had it coming..lolzz

He didn't like the steak I made
And he didn't like my cake.

He said my biscuits were too hard
Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't prepare the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,

I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.

Isn't there anything I could do
To match his mothers shoe

Then I smiled as I saw the light
One thing I could definitely do

I turned around and slapped him tight...
Like his mother used to do!!!!!

Online BackGammon Anyone??

During my last trip back to SG, I had a lots of time to spend time with relatives. My mom made sure we had plenty to do and visiting relatives was among one of them. It was fun catching up with my aunts and cousins and the nieces and nephews that have all grown up to be young men and ladies. In fact, some of them had babies of their own! (wah.. I so old already mah??)

It was especially great as I had the opportunity to meet up with a cousin of mine with whom I spent countless board games with when I was growing up. You know the likes of Scrabble, Monopoly and Checkers. It was fun reminiscing those good old days when we will squabble over who owns what and double score words. One game, however, that we never really played was BackGammon and upon spying one on her son's shelf, we decided to give it a try. We did not know where to start but I remembered an online site that I've chanced upon before, that explained the rules and tips on how to play the game right. So after introducing her to all my blogs (hehe), we proceeded to the online backgammon site.

We both found the site useful and very informative. Like I said before, the site helped us to understand the game better and guess what, we found out that besides being able to download the game to play it offline, you can even earn money from this site by playing the game online.

So after spending some time at the site and feeling confident about the game, we proceeded with playing the game offline first. We messed up a bit but most importantly we both had the time of our life.

Now that I'm back home, this backgammon online site is definitely worth a revisit...join me??

When you type too fast...

You know I love being able to type fast. It's one of the skill that I've always wanted to pick up when I was in school and so when I actually went to take up secretarial studies and was able to pick up the skill, I was so damn happy that now I would not only be able to type fast but also not need to look at the keyboard.

Throughout the years then, that skill was taken for granted. It became automatic like breathing and eating. However, one thing that came out of it was, the faster you type and the faster you think, the more spelling error you make. I tend to miss out in between words. I also tend to misspell "the" and "and".

I found I was not alone. A few blogger friends of mine have the "problem" as well.. Just take a look at this screencapture..

If that don't deserve an award, I don't know what does...hehehhe, ..where before I awarded it to GK for the Best Male Speller Award, this time the winner for the Best Female Speller Award goes to...

Come up here girl and claim this wonderful award for your MAD SPELLING SKILL...heheheh
