Too Many Cooks

You know the saying, too many cooks spoils the broth. Well it's gonna happen soon unless someone I know buck up and start taking the horse by the rein.

People need to realize that there are leaders and there are followers. Individuals need to know themselves otherwise.. disaster is looming. Enuff said!

Writer's Block

I'm staring at my screen. I started to type something. I erased it. Started to type something again. Erased it almost instantly. It's one of those days when you take a break and your mind decided to go on vacation as well.. lolzz.

Might as well, I guess, coz I need to retire soon. Someone is coming over in the morning to teach me this new budget software that hubby bought for his company. I need to be fresh and alert to take in all those accounting terminology.

So I bid you.. goodnight!!!

My Fake Orchids

You know my previous post about how I have red fingers and my hubby has green fingers? Well I found another reason why I don't like gardening. Well, besides the fact that everything I grow dies, it is also because I am asthmatic. Smell is a triggering factor for me and soil smells! Fertilizers smells too! So there! Another excuse reason why I don't garden! lolzz

One more reason I can think of is, because we live in an apartment now, there is really no place to plant anything. I can just imagine my kitties playing with the soil and making a big mess of anything in pots at the balcony. What would be worse is they think that the pot are their litter bin and start doing their "business" there. Oh my, that would be a disaster!

And that is why silk plants and flowers comes in handy for us. I can have the beauty and elegance of room filled with flowers and plants without the hassle of watering them or making sure they have enough sunlight and all that jazz involved with life plants. Nowadays silk plants and flowers look so real, that no one is the wiser. Why, I even get compliments about my healthy orchids from my MIL! gelakguling

Reality Bug

I am bitten. Bitten by Reality TV bug that is. I just love watching Reality Shows. It started with game shows like Survivor and The Apprentice. Now I'm hooked to among others, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmare and Amazing Race. Ahh! The stress level while watching these shows will go up at an all time high, I tell you.

Azwaj refused to watch with me coz he said these shows only highlight people's bad behaviour. While I totally agree, it won't stop me from watching...lolzz! The only show he does watch is American Chopper because of all the super cool bikes they built.

If you are bitten too, just like me, you might want to head on RealityBug dot com. Here you can find what's new, show updates, even casting call, in case you might want to participate yourself! There's even a message board that you can post at to "discuss" your favorite show with others fan.

Join me there ya :)

Spoilers Anyone?

The internet has really spoilt me. Where before I can only read spoilers of my favorite tv series online, now it's the downloading age, where I can download tv series way before the local channel is showing it. Ah such is life. I hardly watch tv nowadays because whatever they are showing.. I've watched it already before they telecast it! lol!

Slow Motion FIFA

Have you ever played the soccer game FIFA in slow motion? Lolzz!! I have seen some kids doing that! gelakguling

That time I was sitting in for a friend at a cybercafe community center. You should see the condition these PC's were in. They were not like run-down or anything but the pc specs were pathetic. But, by the way the kids were playing the computer games though, you think they are having a most wonderful time.

Anyway, there was this group of boys around the age of eight crowding at one particular terminal and making tons of noise. Naturally this was not allowed of course. So I approached them and what I saw really made my jaw dropped and all I can say is.. I felt the utmost pity for them. The FIFA game was running in slow motion.! It must be because the pc did not even meet the basic requirements in terms of memory, processing power and even the video cards.

When I asked them if they know that the pc is running the game in slow mode, they looked blurringly at me and said it's ok.. it's easier to handle the ball! gelakguling

Oh well, as long as they are having fun right?

The Night Owl Returns

On Tuesday, Azwaj and I decided that we were going to try to live like "normal" people. Meaning, in our case to sleep during the night and stay awake during the day. So we opted to stay awake all day Tueday for over 24hrs and sleep at 11pm.

Azwaj, in keeping with the spirit slept exactly at 11pm while I had some post to finish and retired at midnight instead. Because of the long hours awake, we both fell into a deep slumber. However both of us were wide awake at 4am and both of us were feeling refreshed! It was either wake up and do something or stay in bed and do something...lol.. we decided the latter (nuff said).

We feel asleep after that and only woke up at 7am on Wednesday. We showered, bought breakfast and head on the office. And you know what?? I was like soooo sleepy at 10am which totally did not make sense.. If not for the fact I was blogging, I would definitely have fallen asleep again.

Both Azwaj and I then decided that we are truly night owls who are most efficient when the sun goes down. So here we are again, awake for over 24hrs now and intend to sleep soon to wake up at around 5pm or something...

So excuse me me while I'll be a vampire...

Business Loan Woes

Back when Azwaj was a sole proprietor and dreadfully needed any kind of Business Loans to fund his projects, he encountered so many hindrances that made the running of this company really difficult.

Business loans were so difficult to get approved then as it seemed the financial institutions here are only interested in helping you if you've already got money in the bank. Hello! If we already have money, would we still you?? Duh!!

Unfortunately we don't have site here like EZUnsecured dot com that can help new business set up at the same time guarantees excellent service, easy processing as well as fast funding. They don't even need collateral!

It would have been such a great help then when Azwaj was just starting out.

I'm Famous!

May must be my lucky month.

Firstly it's because in the latest PR ranking, LJL has managed to up it's PR2 to a nice PR3, LLP, a modest PR2, CT, a reinstated PR3 and MMO, retained its PR3. What this means is I'll be churning out more post for you guys to enjoy reading (i hopeangel) and more after midnight cheesecake and minum for me to enjoy gelakguling

Then I got featured not once, not twice but three times!

The first one by my new BFF, Zubli, who awarded me and GP for coming up with our brain child, the Hot Red Drop Blogroll club. Thanks Zubli.. much appreciated sengihnampakgigi !

The second one by my new blogger friend Roxy who did an excellent write up for me and my blogs simply titled Lady Java: The Blogger Who Never Sleeps. Lolzz... of course I sleep Roxy.. just not too much sengihnampakgigi

Then, just as I was about to retire for the day (or is it night), Roxy left a comment on LJL saying that LJL was the featured blog of the day over at SocialSpark! Thanks Roxy for letting me know peluk

And last but definitely not least, being able to retain my spot as top commenter at Mariuca, despite it being a close call with Zubli...heheh

Hehehehe.. Awesome or what??!!! This calls for a celebration.. I'm FAMOUS!!.. Java coffee minum for everyone!!! celebrate

Do We Need Health Insurance?

When I went for my fibroid removal surgery earlier this year, my hospital bill came up to a whooping RM9500! That was not even for a single room. I was sharing with three others patients in the maternity ward. I'm not complaining but I was wondering if Azwaj or me had any health insurance, we could have avoided such a exorbitant amount.

It is not our culture here to get health insurance because I guess a lot of us are employees and our companies have those covered for us already. This is the case for my SIL who was admitted just recently and because her husband was an employed personnel, his company's health insurance covered for all hospital bill. The company that I worked for in Singapore before had the same kind of insurance as well. We also have what we call a "medisave" account that as employees working in Singapore, we had to contribute monthly to. We can use the funds in case we are ever hospitalised, although it does have to be a Singapore hospital.

In my case, Azwaj's company, which is his own, does not have such fringe benefits coz the company is young and there's not too many staff yet. So we had to pay out of our own pocket. I'm just wondering now, going forward, if we should really look into health insurance. After all you never know what might happen in the future.

Having said that, you might want to check out NC health insurance. The site is able to give you a custom tailored plans in three easy steps. So check it out wont' you senyum

Meeting Natrah

So it finally happened. I met my first blogger friend all the way from Baling Kedah. Emila was supposed to join us but unfortunately she was called away on a meeting at the last minute instead.

Anyway, Natrah and I decided to meet at Ampang Point at 8pm last night (1st May). We decided to dress in red so that it's easier to recognize each other. And that worked like a charm (thanks Emila). I called her once I arrived and even as we were talking on the phone, I saw this lady in red walking towards where I was. Really cool!

We decided to just hangout at McD as Nat had her dinner already. It was like a meeting of close and old friends. I felt like I've known her forever and we were chatting non-stop, about blogging, friends we made from blogging, making money online, even health chat. It was anything under the sun and the moon. Given a few more hours we would probably talked about bad credit auto loan as well gelakguling.

As Azwaj had so kindly offered to send Nat back to her hotel, we were taking our own sweet time getting to know each other and stayed on for as long as McD allowed us and that was like 11pm or so. We were even giggling and laughing as we were waiting for Azwaj to come and pick us up and even managed to sneak in a picture or two to MMS to Farah...lolzz... yeah Farah..we were still together when you sms and call Natrah...hehehe... so cute lah you..

The ladies in Red!!!
(hehe don't adjust your screen,
the quality of picture not so good lah..
gelakguling)

Anyway.. it was a fun fun night and I look forward to meeting Nat again some day and all my blogging friends as well..

Let's all meet one day ok :)

Onion Flower

I've heard of a lot of flowers but Onion Flower? Wow that's like totally new to me.

and this is what it looks like

Back when we had a little back yard, hubby loved to grow stuff. He really does have green fingers as they call it, coz everything he planted, would grow to be so healthy, nice and beautiful. We had a beautiful garden of flowers and even herbs and spices.

On of the easiest, he told me, to plant were onions. And they actually grew and whenever I needed onions, all I needed to do was go back to the backyard and took some from the ground. It was awesome and there was no wastage coz I only took what I needed. And that was also the first time I saw an onion flower.. lolz!!.. wasn't it cool?!

If hubby has green fingers, I must be having red fingers, because whatever I planted will never grow and if the plant was growing nicely it will definitely die! I might as well grow silk flowers instead
gelakguling. Then for sure, they would always live and never die no matter what I do to them. sengihnampakgigi

Do you have green or red fingers?? angkatkening

I need a new phone

I need a new cellphone pretty much like now coz my Siemens one is dying on me. Even ffter I've given it all the juice it need, it will still die on me with just one phone call or a few text messages. The keypad is also no longer as sensitive as before. I need to press and press the keys for the numbers to stick which makes dialing and texting difficult if not impossible. I could potentially just use my old Nokia 3315 phone that works fine but that means, no camera, no saving of send messages and limited phone storage numbers. Nah... I don't think so...lolzz.

I have two phones in mind right now. I'm torn between the Sony Ericsson P1i which is also a PDA phone, and the other is a Sony Ericsson K850i which has 5megapixel camera - which also means I don't need to get me a digital camera anymore! Ahhh the dilemma. Maybe I should apply for cash advance loans, then I can get both! sengihnampakgigi

If anyone has these phones or have experiences using any or both of the phones, I'd appreciate any feedback so I can make an informed decision before jumping in both feet.

Thanks peeps sembah

Cheese Cake Attack

Help!! It's the cheesecake attack. First it was Janice, with her Oreo Cheesecake,, then it was Nat with her Cheddar Cheesecake.. how am I supposed to stay away from this irresistible temptation?

My answer?? I DON'T malu

I went ahead yesterday and go bought one since I don't have an electric egg beater yet to try any of the two recipes offered to me by the two ladies. At this rate, I'm gonna have to force myself up one of those treadmills over at the gym...nangih

Oh and you know what.. while I was enjoying my sleep today (I slept at 8am in case anyone want to know...gelakguling), the aircon stopped working. Me and Azwaj awoke at 10am to a very still and very hot room. Arghh we thought the aircon had zonged out on us as well.. but Noo... Now.. there's a power failure... Arghhhhh... how are we ever gonna sleep now??

But you know what, after we opened the windows, it wasn't too bad, the wind was blowing (helps being on the 10th floor) and pretty soon.. both of us were snoring away.. at least I know I was...

Now.. am alive and kicking once again.. look out I'm coming your way....siul

The Other Side of Daylight

It is 2pm here in Malaysia and I have been awake more than 20 hours already. I actually planned to go to bed early last night but then hubby needed to go to the office and he wondered if I wanted to accompany him. Being the good wife I am, I said ok and so that was where we were till this morning around 9am. After hubby's partner arrive, we had breakfast then proceeded home to catch some zzz.

Then at around 11am, we got a call from my MIL saying that one of my SIL was admitted to the hospital. Seeing how we were still fresh after the breakfast and the morning shower, we thought, ok let's go visit SIL and see how she is. We could also go and collect the luxury watches that my FIL wanted us to pick up for him.

So guess where I am right now??

I am again at the office!! Lolzz!!...We are going for lunch soon and I figure if I get tired in a short while, I'll just sleep in my room here.

Purple Dragon Fruit

I was over at the supermarket today and I saw this fruit that looked similar to the dragon fruit I'm used to seeing and having when I was in Vietnam. So remembering the yummylicious taste, I decided to purchase it. After all it was only RM3.95 for four pieces, which is pretty cheap.

So once we got home, I cut it open and instead of white flesh like the ones I'm used to seeing, the flesh was bright purple. I seriously don't know if they coloured the fruit or something but the taste was just as yummy as I remembered it.

So anyone else have ever seen or tasted this purple dragonfruit before??

Complain, Complain, Complain

I was tagged a few days ago by GP on this Complaint Tag and so here goes.

I hate Malaysian roads. Yes I absolutely hate them. I hate that there are no proper road signs and even when there are, the route always take you through the longer way. I hate there are holes everywhere and I hate that there are so many detour, I always end up lost all the time.

Once I was picking up my friend at the airport and I missed the turn to go the highway. I thought taking the next exit was the safest best so I could turn back and make a turnaround. Due to no proper signage, suffice to say I was 4hours late picking my friend up. tension

Then there were times when we had to cancel going to a relative wedding which was held at their home coz we got lost along the way due to, again, lack of road signs. marah

Can you now see why I don't go anywhere without hubby in tow??

Nasi Lemak Delight

We always pass by this Nasi Lemak stall each time we go to the office but we never tried the food there before. They always look busy with customers and we even saw on one occasion some customers being turned away coz they came too late and there was no more Nasi Lemak left. So we decided this morning that we gonna try and see what the fuss is about.

I was standing there waiting when this nice lady asked me if I have taken my number. I asked her what number would that be and she explained that the stall owner actually gave out queue number! Wow! That's definitely new. So I took my number, 37, from on the table and waited by the sideline. As I was waiting for my turn, more people came and the stall owner actually looked worried and stopped giving numbers out as she was concerned there might not be enough Nasi Lemak to go around.

Anyway, my number came up and I requested for two packets of Nasi Lemak with cuttlefish. I was charged only RM4.60 for two packets! That is definitely cheap for cuttlefish I thought and figured the portion must be measly.

Boy, was I surprised because not only was the portion generous, it was also simply delicious.. no wonder the crowd came in droves..

I know I'm gonna do a return visit soon menari

Streamyx and Lightning Don't Mix

If there is one thing I know about streamyx and lightning is that they don't click. My streamyx connection went dead on me last friday afternoon after a thunderstorm and I only got reactivated again today! According to hubby, both our modem and the line was affected thus the unsuccessful reconnection after the purchase of the new modem on Friday night.

So all though the weekend, I was "internet-less" and went out of my mind with boredom. I slept early and in fact had a slight sleep over-dose and woke up with a splitting headache! Hubby was also stressed out as he had to do some online work and was unable to do them at home. Both of us were too lazy to go to the office this weekend and so you can just imagine how frustrated we were. I reckon our life insurance rates will shoot up if this continues..lolzz. Luckily I had enough episodes of all my favorite shows left unwatched so I got to enjoy them with hubby and that sort of occupied our time.

But LJ's household is once again calm. All is restored. We got our new modem, our internet line is up and working and blogging is again at it's all time high...heheh... Yes.. all is fine once again razz

Oh and I also want to thank my blog buddies that kept my blog warm and cozy and WET in my absence..lolzz.. I love you all!!!

GP! Me and Azwaj had a good laugh over this... so cute and adorable lah you just like Phoebe..muahss!! Nat.. you also so cute lahh...
